Habitus of Ph. monyche or Sylvandra Cramer and related to them, related also to H. planae Walk., based on its description.
Fore wings broad, light rufous brown, somewhat transparant mainly in the disk, veins terra cotta. Hind wind broad, transparant white, margined with light brown. Underside of the four wings with a light brown margin, white from the base to the cellula. Thorax yellow with black stripes; head yellow; abdomen silky, snow-white: underside of the palps black, sternum dark brown, like the feet; abdomen yellow, with black stripes at either side. Antennae black, short, pectinate.
