Ole Karsholt wrote on 5-3-2010:
" Linnaeus described Phalaena heliconia in 1758 in his Systema Natura (10th ed.) p. 511 from the a specimen in the collection of the Swedish queen Ludovica Ulrica (now in the Dept. of Entomology, University of Uppsala, Sweden). A lectotype was designated by Mikkola and Honey (Zool. J. Linn. Society 108: 133), and it was figures as Asota helioconia on p. 135."

Hans Meijlon (Uppsala) wrote on 25-08-2010: "the collection of Queen Lovisa Ulrika of Sweden (Museum Ludovicae Ulricae Reginae) was donated to Uppsala and is now part of Uppsala University's natural history collections, e.g. the Museum of Evolution".

Type locality: In 1758 Linnaeus wrote : "Calidis regionibus" = "In warm regions", but in 1764 he gives the locality as: "In Indiis".
